More information:
I got a call from Wendy the ACO in Paris about a little girl with cataracts is what she said. She was owner surrendered (dumped) by her breeder in the Paris shelter. This little girl has been bred a lot. She has an ulcer in one eye & the other eye was injured and was swollen. We removed the eye that was causing her pain. She doesn't see very well, but I think she can see light and dark. She mainly navigates by your voice.
She seems so sweet and quiet. She will let you pick her up and easily put drops in her eye. But she does crouch a lot when she thinks that you are going to get after her or pick her up. I have been working with her on that. She is better now than she was, but does need more confidence building. This is not a dog you are gonna take to obedience school and her shine immediately. This one needs TLC, understanding and time. She is very sweet and knows her name is Penelope. She will come to you when you singsong her name Penelope. She does crouch when she gets close. She is a sweet girl who just needs someone to love her and work with her.
